I have psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis and live in super hot Houston, TX. I’m 33 now and was diagnosed 7 years ago. It helps me more than I could ever put into words just hearing someone else going through what I go through.
I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis when i was 12, but i’ve had pain & stiffness in most of my joints for most of my life I wuz on 3 meds called plaquenil mobic & like u a weekly shot called methotrexate my dr. wanted 2 stop the mobic b cuz of some of the side affects tht it caused & we had 2 stop the methotrexate 4 the same reasons I spent most of my life in hospitals 2 & feel the same way u do bout the whole normal life thing i wish u the best of luck in living with yur psoriasis.
good luck to u jacob
It’s every year, and in 2010 it’s being held in Philadephia Pennsylvania – probably the second week in July.
how often is it? and where is it usually?
carrying on from below: and i live in london, which has really cold weather a lot of the time, which does not help with anything!

hi, my story is that i developed psorasis when i was 3, and then arthritis when i was 6, which has now spread to every joint in my body. I also have crohns to top it all off. My psorasis is pretty bad, so I have to walk around in long trousers and jumpers just to hide it. I completely agree with jacob with everything he says. I am on methotrexate injections weekly, along with an infusion every 6 weeks which I have to be on all day. It sucks when your 18 and have to go through this all your life!
Oh my god!! haha that’s so cool
did you get on stage and talk about this year’s one?
:( I fully want to but i think we only go over every couple of years. Last years was my first one (:
Noo
x
Yes, that was me! Are you coming to the one in July in Houston this year?
Hey did you go to the “kids get arthritis too” conference in L.A. in July last year?
I went over from New Zealand and i swear i recognise you?
I’m 17 and have arthritis.
got it when i was 9.
Check out my video
I have had this same condition for about 5 years myself. I just recently discovered DMSO for the arthritis from Dr Stanley Jacobs. You can get it online and it will give you your life back as far as the arthritis but as far as the psoriasis itself, i use MG 217 Sal-Acid Ointment. It removes all the scales associated with it but does not prevent them from re-forming. It is great to have something that removes them completely when it forms really thick. Also rub on Colloidal Silver liquid.
ive had it now for nearly two years, i lived a very healthy life and active life up til that point, with body building, martial arts, hill running. then all of a sudden everything went tits up. the life i’d been living for 22 yrs had gone. its a terrible terrible illness. but i persisted with herbal remedies and natural solutions and refused drugs etc, and now im doing a lot better, i can walk without a limp, i can clench my fists, my nails aren’t as bad and i went on a run only a month ago,
Anyone heard of pomegranate or hyssop as a cure for psoriasis??.
You can talk with me if you’d like. I’ve had it 5 years now. It gets worse and worse everyday and I had to quit my job last year from it.
People don’t understand when I tell them I can’t do things, I guess because you can’t see pain on the outside. Just to know there are others out there seems to help.
Hey, here’s my story. I got Psoriatic Arthritis about 5 years ago. I’ve been off and on Humira injections due to getting infections. In 2005 I rode the MS150 on my bicycle, now I can’t even climb on it.
Getting up in the morning is the worse! My P is not that bad, but the PsA part makes up for it. I applied for dissablilty 3 years ago and I’m still waiting a hering date. Sometimes I wish I had cancer or something else because at least there would be a end insite.
You are an inspiration Jacob, walk with your head held high young man!
wow….. iv had P for about 8 years now and not until last oct. or nov. they found out it was PA it sucks having to go threw it right now my P is out of control on my body not so much on my faces , neck ,elbow’s i try to keep it under control with my lotions, pills & injections i take those every 4 days which sucks cuz i heal hella slow when i get cut or something like that but it works wonders for me …… umm thats all i have to say i think
I’m 38 and have suffered from PA since I was 14 as well. Enbrel is the best medication I have been on over the years by far. Call the Encourage Foundation (by Enbrel) 1-888-436-2735. If you require other medications call the Partnership for Prescription Assistance (PPA) at 1-888-4PPA-NOW or visit pparx (dot) org. They will take info from you and send you a personalized booklet with contact info for each medication and who to call to get it free or even a grant to help pay for meds.
i have no insurance
i can’t afford to go to a Dr. right know but after the holidays i should have enough money
do you have any info on the Patient assistance program. I want to try this enbrel
Brookers, I hope you’re staying on top of the med treatments available. Jacob has had great success with Enbrel, and they have a patient assistance program if your insurance doesn’t pay for the drug.
